A Bury woman is encouraging people to join her children’s group to offer "much-needed support" for families and help to build friendships.

Emma King, who owns "The Buddies", is urging parents and caregivers to come along to her club, which aims to “improve the mental health and well-being of children and their parents through indoor and outdoor relaxation sessions".

Offering bespoke sessions for babies, toddlers and children aged up to 12, The Buddies run activities for each age group, including multi-sensory play, "mummy meetups", and crafting sessions.

This includes, "Baby Buddies", "Mini Buddies", and "Nursery Buddies" classes, which are specifically designed to "nurture" bonding between infants and their guardians.

“I’ve always wanted to help people from a young age,” said Emma, who is a professional children's yoga instructor.

“The Buddies allow me to work with families to inspire connections and help parents to take time to relax with their children indoors and out!”

After feeling there were inadequate support provisions for families and children during the pandemic in Bury and Walmersley, Emma founded The Buddies with the aim of “reducing social isolation, and creating a feeling of belonging in Bury for families".

She said: “We give families the opportunity to access child-led relaxation, help them create much-needed support and aid them in developing friendships in the local area.

"The Buddies welcomes everyone, and I want all to feel included regardless of background, disability, religion or race.”

A group attendee, also named Emma, praised The Buddies, stating: “Emma is just lovely.

"We went to our first ‘Baby Buddies and You’ session and we felt very at home and comfortable from the get-go. We are looking forward to the next one.”

To join The Buddies, Emma’s website can be found at empathyholisticbuddiescic.co.uk.

Depending on age group, sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Emma added: “I am offering 10 per cent off to any new member who quotes this article!

“So, find your own ‘Buddies Tribe’ and be part of this caring community!”
