A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed at a home in Bury in an "isolated domestic incident" this morning, Tuesday.

Emergency services were sent to a property on Limefield Brow, off Walmersley Road, at around 8.30am.

A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed by a woman.

The suspect fled the area and no one has been arrested yet.

Police are treating the incident as an isolated incident and do not believe there is a wider threat to the public.

An eyewitness said: “I drove past at around 9am and saw around 10 police cars lining the road.

“I never heard any sirens or anything. It looked like officers were making enquiries.”

A police spokesperson said: “At around 8.30am this morning (Tuesday), we were called to reports of a stabbing on Limefield Brow in Bury.

“Emergency services attended, and enquiries established a man in his 40s had been stabbed by a woman.

“He has been taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing at this stage.

“The offender subsequently fled the scene.

“Officers are currently treating this as an isolated domestic incident and do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public.
