A business which has a stall on Bury Market has branched out to open a new village farm shop and butchers offering fresh, locally sourced produce.
Fresh Farm Shop, based at the Belmont Works site on Egerton Road in Belmont opens today, Wednesday.
The sister shop to Fresh Meat Packs, situated next door to the new shop, will sell a range of meats and fresh produce such as vegetables, dairy products, cakes, spices and more, all sourced from around the North West.
The Belmont shop's opening times will be from 10am to 4pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with today, September 18, being its first day open for business.
Fresh Meat Packs has been based at the trading estate on the old Belmont Bleachworks for a decade.
However, readers may be familiar with the business which came before it, Fred Brandwood's stall, which had a stall on Bolton Market and is now on Bury Market.
Jake Brandwood, from the same family, has opened the shop with Alex Carey.
Alex said: "We are an established meat seller and have been up here for quite a while, but we have just taken on the unit next to us.
"We thought it was an opportunity to open something a little more customer-focused. People will be able to collect online orders from it as well.
"We have got a stall on Bury Market, that is just meat, but this will have a few more products."
The shop will have produce on display behind counters, set in an airy, wood-panelled room.

Alex added: "We have got the butcher side of things, with good cuts of meat and poultry. As well as that we will have a number of products from local companies in the North West.
"We will have organic vegetables, cakes, spices, marinated rubs, cordial, milk, eggs and different sorts of butter, such as ones you might put on a steak.
"We also have cheeses and some cured meats like Parma ham and things like that.
"It is a family business which has been around since the 1960s or 1970s. It started from Fred Brandwood, who had a stall on Bolton Market around that time."
