A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a horsebox in the area of Manchester Airport.

The incident was in the area of the junction of Sunbank Lane and Wilmslow Road at around 8am on Monday.

Police said a cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a horsebox. Police said the cyclist, a man in his 60s, has injuries which are life-threatening.

There are no arrests at this time and there is an appeal for information in particular from the driver of a white VW Polo which was believed to be behind the horsebox.
