A borough high school welcomed new Year 7 pupils with a quirky celebration.

To mark the new school year, Tottington High School carried out a lively "guard of honour" ceremony as pupils finished their first day, with more than a minute of whoops and applause from staff members and follow pupils.

The idea came from the school’s new headteacher, Mr Yates, who led the Year 7s out of the school, and was coordinated by deputy headteachers, Mrs Deakin and Mr Varey.
