A talented pianist will be performing at Bury Parish Church on Friday.

Ian Buckle will be playing at the town centre church in a lunchtime concert at 12.30pm.

Ian, who juggles roles as a solo pianist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist and teacher, has enjoyed established connections with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the John Wilson Orchestra.

He has been the pianist in Ensemble 10/10 since its inception and regularly plays orchestral piano in the BBC Philharmonic.

However, his impressive professional pedigree does not stop there.

He is the artistic force behind Pixels Ensemble and frequently collaborates with prominent poets and readers.

His recent recitals have included musical accompaniment to poetry readings commemorating the First World War and celebrating A.E.Housman's work.

The pianist has also proven his flair across varied musical styles, with recordings of Gershwin's New York Rhapsody, and sonatas by Weber and Mendelssohn in his repertoire.

He currently teaches at the University of Liverpool and is an examiner with ABRSM when he is not pleasing his audience with his melodic charm.

Tickets for the concert will cost £5, with tickets available on the door and refreshments will be sold from 11.15am
