A dental nurse from Bury has become a successful bodybuilder after initially wanting to lose weight.

Marina Khan, 25, who works as a dental nurse at Bury Dental Practice, convinced herself that she needed liposuction and a tummy tuck, which kickstarted her gym journey.

She then started watching videos on YouTube and social media posts which then led her to sign up with a personal coach.

Speaking about her training regime, she said: “I train seven days a week, I wake up at 3am to get my three-hour gym session in before my day at work, after work I prepare my meals and get my steps in.”

This year she will be entering the PCA British Finals competition in Manchester on September 8 after entering the same competition last year in the first timer’s category where she came in fifth place.

The PCA Manchester finals is an amateur British finals qualifier, and she will then be hoping to enter the British final qualifier for FITX, a British bodybuilding federation.

Marina said: “My colleagues at Bury Dental Practice have supported me throughout my journey where I also have completed my dental nursing course and successfully now registered with the General Dental Council.

 

“Managing dental nursing and bodybuilding has been hard work.

“I was once a girl that just wanted to be skinny, for this I was going to pick the easy route, but now I am a girl who works hard for the body I have.”
