The Bury 10K is fast approaching on Sunday, September 15, and runners from near and far will be hitting the streets of Bury to take on the exciting challenge.

The friendly run is suitable for all abilities, so no matter where you are on your fitness journey, there is a space for you on the starting line.

The Bury 10K is a Run For All event – part of the lasting legacy of the late amateur runner and fundraiser, Jane Tomlinson CBE.

Jane, from Leeds, made headlines by taking part in a series of endurance events, including marathons, triathlons, ironman contests and cross-Europe cycle rides, despite being diagnosed with an incurable cancer.

Before she died, Jane was able to sow the seeds for the Run For All Leeds 10K, which has now grown into a series of nationwide runs that encourage all racers to get involved.

The 10K is part of the annual Bury Running Festival, which is brought to Bury by Run For All in partnership with Bury Council.

The 10K is a fantastic fundraising vehicle that plays a particularly important role in supporting the work that we do here at Bury Hospice.

We are currently looking for motivated runners who want the fantastic experience of competing in the 10K whilst raising vital funds for the hospice, in a fun and friendly environment.

Whether you’ve taken on a sponsored run before or not, we are seeking runners who are willing to loop around the 10K course in support of patients receiving specialist care.

All participants running in aid of the hospice will receive an exclusive medal, a finisher’s goody bag, and an option to have a hospice running shirt or vest.

We are very grateful to have had the support of runners who ran in the Great Manchester Run in May, and we are looking forward to seeing even more supporters join us for the Bury 10K next month.

If you would like to run in support of the hospice, visit buryhospice.org.uk/bury-10k.
