A huge tree has fallen onto a house in a residential area of Bury.
The force of Storm Lilian caused a huge tree to topple onto a house on Ribble Drive in the Walmersley area of Bury this morning.
Bury Council, and a number of emergency services as well as BT were on the scene with the property being taped off and Ribble Drive being closed off to the public whilst they worked to remove the tree.

A crane had been brought in to remove the tree, it’s not clear what damage the property has sustained yet, however the tree hit the top of the house.
Local residents said that they had been concerned about overgrown trees on the road for some time and that they were in need of chopping.

No injuries have been reported from the incident.
A spokesperson for Bury Council said: “Our team are on site at Ribble Drive supporting recovery efforts and tenants.”

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
Elsewhere tram services were suspended due to debris on the lines and Bolton Food and Drink Festival has had to be postponed until tomorrow.
Electricity Northwest are also working hard to restore power to hundreds of homes in the borough.
