Bury Grammar School students celebrated a collection of "golden" A-level results yesterday, Thursday.

The school said it recorded one of its strongest set of A-level grades outside the Covid era with a perfect 100 per cent pass mark.

Nearly four in 10 grades awarded were A* to A and three quarters were at the "gold standard" of A* to B.

A total of 111 A* to A grades were received.

The "vast majority" of students have gained a place with their university of choice across the country with one set to embark on an opportunity across the Atlantic in Indiana, America.

Aerospace engineering with pilot studies, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, engineering, dentistry, law, medicine and performing arts are some of the courses the students will be studying in the next steps of their careers.

A school spokesperson said: “We are all over the moon for our A-level students.

"They have surpassed themselves and shown that hard work and commitment really do pay off.

"I hope the results give our students even more self-belief and confidence as they move into the next stage of their lives.

"They should be so proud of themselves, having achieved grades that demonstrate just phenomenal individual progress.

"And it is apt that, in an Olympic year, they have set a new record for the number of grades at the golden standard of A*-B.

"Golden results for a golden generation! Very many congratulations to every one of them.”
