A borough care home has been honoured with an award.
Regency Care Home in Whitefield has been awarded the NHS SWAN Model accreditation, which is focused on end-of-life care.
The model consists of four key components, sign, word, action, need, and was crafted to offer a comprehensive framework for supporting residents and their loved ones during end-of-life care and beyond.
Only one other care home in the North West holds the status.
Regency, as part of the Lovett Care Group, has proven through an NHS audit that it is committed to providing exceptional advance care planning to residents.
The accreditation underscores that the Lily Hill Street home is equipped to create personalised plans that cater to the needs of residents and their families during challenging times.
Senior general manager at the care home, Nichola Birkett, said: "It is a privilege to look after someone at the end of their life, and we want to ensure that every wish is possible at Regency Care Home.
"We’re passionate about providing the best end-of-life care, and the SWAN Model reassures our residents and families that they will be treated with dignity and compassion."
