It’s that time of the year when we are gearing up to what is the biggest musical event to hit Bury – yep, you’ve guessed it, Glaston-Bury!

The annual festival sees hundreds of diverse acts grace stages across town, bringing you an array of musical styles and genres to enjoy.

This year’s event takes place on bank holiday Monday, August 26. Performers will be sharing their vast talents with audiences who have waited all year for Glaston-Bury's return.

There will be lots of wonderful bands and musicians to suit all tastes, performing across several outdoor stages and indoor venues around the Silver Street and Bury Parish Church heritage quarter.

There will even be a family stage and a DJ stage, as it is a festival for all generations!

Glaston-Bury first started back in 2008 with the mission to raise money for Bury Hospice and other local causes. Since then, the fantastic one-day festival has raised more than £300,000 in donations.

Last year’s event raised a staggering £27,000 for the hospice.

The funds raised contribute to supporting many areas of our services, helping to ensure that the people of Bury get the care they need, when they need it.

As you can imagine, such a massive multi-venue festival requires a tremendous amount of coordination.

We are grateful to the Glaston-Bury organisers, Chris Buckley, Lyndsey Hopkinson and Laura Higginson, who always go the extra mile to ensure everything goes to plan.

Chris said: “Attendees can expect a stellar line-up with a genre for everyone. There are 17 stages and 200 acts for the small price of just £10.

“Our production team has been working hard to deliver the best Glaston-Bury to date.”

We at the hospice cannot stress enough how much the funding generated by Glaston-Bury makes a huge difference to the patients and families who require our care and support.

Chris said: “We are just hoping for a great, positive day for the people of our town and the visitors from other regions.

"We welcome revellers old and new, so some nice weather would be good.

“We strive to make Glaston-Bury the very best it can be; we simply want people to come and enjoy, embrace, and respectfully party.”
