A fire service open day in Bury at the weekend has been hailed a "huge success".

More than 1,000 people went to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service's training and safety centre on Hinds Lane on Sunday.

As well as meeting firefighters, people who attended were able to see rescue demonstrations and take a tour of the "state-of-the-art" facilities.

Bury Fire Choir also performed at the event too.
