We at Bury Hospice are proud to announce that our partnership with NECS Consultancy is an MCA (Management Consultancies Agencies) Awards 2024 finalist.
We worked with NECS to develop our pilot project for night sitting as well as developing an advice line for patients and families.
As a consequence of working with NECS, we were able to deliver the project much sooner than originally planned.
These key pieces of work were implemented with the goal of providing early support and intervention for patients, and minimising avoidable hospital admissions.
We are so glad to have this work recognised as a nomination in the Social Value category, where we are in great company alongside fellow finalists, KPMG with NHS England, and Moorhouse Consulting with OFGEM, plus others.
Laura Hirst of NECS, said: “It was a privilege to see the passion and commitment demonstrated by the hospice team in providing high quality and compassionate care, with service-users at the centre of care planning, interventions and treatment.
“This care not only positively impacted both patients and families at a very difficult and vulnerable time in their lives, but helped to reduce pressure on other health and social care services in the area.
“The Bury Hospice team gave us a warm welcome, we were able to bring additional capacity and an extensive unique skill-set to maximise joint success, with continued benefits being experienced in relation to service expansion and skill development."
Since the pilot schemes have ended, we have secured funding to continue with the hospice at night and the liaison nurse. These are elements of our outreach service that add the most value to the people of Bury.
We know that these two services alone make such a difference to the patients and families that use them. Being acknowledged as a finalist is great but the most important thing for us is knowing that what we are doing is hugely helping people.
