We are pleased to announce the new date and venue for the forthcoming Twilight Memory Walk.
The walk is now taking place on Saturday, September 7 at the beautiful Burrs Country Park in Bury.
There are two routes to choose from, both enjoying the scenic surroundings of the parkland.
The first option offers a gentle two-mile stroll, while the second option is four miles long and takes in lovely stretches of the park, north of the railway viaduct.
Either route can be chosen on the day, which will be kicking off from within the park’s showground.
There will be a DJ setting the tone with some great music, delicious food, and the opportunity to get your face painted.
All walkers will have the chance to dedicate a lantern to a loved one. The lanterns will form a beautiful display to light your way as you return.
The Twilight Memory Walk is a family friendly space that offers the community a chance to gather together, share stories, laughter and memories as we walk in support of one another.
Our lives are often left with a void when we lose a loved one. However, we aim for the walk to shine a light on these remarkable people who, although no longer here, will always mean so much to us.
Spectators are welcome at the start and finish of the walk to support the participating walkers who are helping to raise vital funds for the hospice.
Every penny matters and has the potential to make a huge difference to our patients and their families. An amount of £5 can help provide support to bereaved children, and £30 can help our outreach team visit a patient in their own home.
We encourage you to sign up and to let your family, friends, and colleagues know about the walk so that they can too.
We can’t wait to come together and remember loved ones in a fun way while supporting the hospice.
Registration for the event will take place from 5pm on the day with the walk starting at 6pm.
The registration fee is £15 (which includes a t-shirt and completion goody bag) with a pledge to raise £100 in sponsorship. To register visit buryhospice.org.uk/events/twilight-memory-walk-2024 or call 0161 797 1748.
