Prestwich Pride has announced an expanded line-up to ensure the weekend festival has "something for everyone".

The festival runs from Friday, August 9 to Sunday, August 11 and now includes entertainment over the three days, from queer acts and a DJ night to a parkrun event at Heaton Park, planting at an allotment and a pub quiz among other attractions.

After unveiling details of the festival earlier this year, organisers have now announced that a number of events have been added to the line-up.

There will be a drag supper at Panama Hatty's on the Friday at 6.30pm, hosted by the "sensational" Sophie Stardust, in which guests will enjoy a two-course dinner with drinks packages and a DJ. Bookings can be made through the venue.

There will be "Plant at Pride" session at a site on Bury New Road on the Sunday at 9am in which people can join in with a gardening session and unwind and meet new friends in a peaceful setting with light refreshments on offer. Those interested can email events@prestwichpride to book a spot and are asked to bring their gardening gloves.

Moonbeam Coffee House will be having a Sunday brunch event at 11am too.

And on the Sunday night, Cuckoo will be serving up an "epic" line-up of LGBTQ+ entertainers in a comedy night.

The line-up has been "thoughtfully curated to create diverse spaces and events that cater to the entire community, ensuring everyone can partake in the celebrations".

Prestwich Pride communications lead Matthew Cooper said: “We are absolutely thrilled about the expanded line-up for Prestwich Pride.

"Our goal has been to create a diverse array of events that truly represent and celebrate our vibrant community.

"From queer performances by local stars to serene gardening sessions, we’ve made sure there’s something for everyone.

"The funds raised will go towards supporting the George House Trust, an organisation close to our hearts, ensuring they can continue their vital work.”

Most events are free to attend although tickets need to be ordered for some events, including the drag quiz with The Fat Britney at Macca's Bar on the Friday, Born to be Wild Child on the Saturday morning at Prestwich Conservative Club and the Love Hangover DJ night, which Gina Breeze will be headlining, at The Goods In on the Saturday night.
