A Bury shopping centre has won an environmental award for its commitment to sustainability.
The Building and Construction Green Apple Award was presented to the Mill Gate Shopping Centre at a ceremony held at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

It was awarded as part of the new drainage installation project at the shopping centre.
The Green Apple Environment Awards are part of an annual international campaign that recognises, rewards and promotes environmental best practices globally.

Centre manager Angela Tierney said: “We are incredibly proud to have won the Building and Construction Green Apple Award.
“It underlines our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
“At Mill Gate, we strive to create a shopping environment that not only meets the needs of our community but also sets a standard for green practices in the industry.”
The award aims to highlight the shopping centre's dedication to environmental initiatives and sustainable construction practices, as well as promoting green standards within the community.
