An Audi driver made off from the police and crashed into vehicles in a Bury town centre chase.

Police spotted the Audi A3, with three unknown people inside. Police wanted to speak with the occupants about what they were doing in the area.

The driver made off from police at speed and led police on a chase through Bury. The vehicle was lost for a time and later found abandoned.

During the incident, the vehicle crashed into a stationary vehicle and another member of the public’s vehicle.

The car was seized for having no insurance and false number plates.

A police spokesperson said: “Town centre officers sighted this Audi A3 with three unknown persons onboard, the officers intended to speak with the occupants about what they were doing in the area they were seen originally.

“Weirdly enough, these people didn't want to stick around and made off from the officers at speed.

“They then engaged officers in a pursuit through Bury, the vehicle was eventually lost however found abandoned a short while after the pursuit had concluded.

“During the incident, this vehicle collided with a stationary vehicle and also another member of the public's vehicle.

“If anyone has any information about the people who were in this vehicle please contact PC 18651 VIPOND at 18651@gmp.police.uk or Crimestoppers to do this anonymously.

“The vehicle has since been seized for having no insurance and also being on false plates.”
