It might not look too dramatic but this photo records an historic day as far as education in Radcliffe was concerned.
It was taken on August 26, 1975, the first day that the new Coney Green Comprehensive School opened.
A second year class are pictured with their teacher, Mr D Tarver. Coney Green was merged with Radcliffe High School in 2003 to create Radcliffe Riverside before its closure in the summer of 2014.
The school buildings were demolished in 2015 and last year planning permission was granted to use the six acre site for homes.
Were you among the first pupils at the new school?
