A man was cut out of a car after a crash involving a lorry in Bury this morning, Tuesday.

Emergency services were sent to Parkhills Road following the crash at around 8.50am.

It is understood the crash happened near the junction with Manchester Road and the road was closed for a period of time.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to rescue a man from the car before making the area safe.

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At around 8.50am today (Tuesday) two fire engines from Bury and Whitefield Community Fire Stations plus the technical response unit from Ashton Community Fire Station were called to a crash involving on heavy goods vehicle and a car on Parkhills Road, Bury.

“Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to rescue one man from the car and made the area safe.

"Crews were in attendance for around one hour.”

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said a male patient was taken to hospital.
