Half a million bricks crashed to the ground at Walshaw in January 1971 when the 150-foot chimney at Bolholt Fine Woodwork was demolished.
Comedian and demolition expert Blaster bates carried out the ‘toppling’ watched by a large crowd.
It required a great deal of precision to prevent the falling chimney from hitting nearby buildings.
