A number of people from Bury have recently been before the court.

Magistrates have dealt with a number of offences including harassment, possession of weapons and drugs matters.

Colin Ward breached a restraining order last month.

The 54-year-old went to an address in Prestwich, which he was banned from going to.

Ward admitted the offence at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

Following this he was given a sentence of 26 weeks suspended for two years.

Ward, of Church Street, Ainsworth, was ordered to do 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Adam Cooper had a meat cleaver and a bread knife in Bury on New Year’s Day this year in Bury.

He was found with both weapons shortly after 4pm.

The 33-year-old admitted two counts of possession of a pointed article at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

Cooper, of Bolton Street, Ramsbottom, was given a sentence of four months suspended for two years.

He was ordered to do an alcohol treatment requirement for a year and to attend 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Sami Mahmood had a knuckle duster on Ancoats Street, Manchester, in April this year.

The following day he was found with cannabis, also in Manchester.

The 23-year-old admitted the offences at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court.

Mahmood, of Barnhill Road, Prestwich, was placed on a community order to last for a year.

He was ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work and ten rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Imran Khan drove a Vauxhall Vivaro on Stretford Road, Trafford, with cocaine in his system in July last year.

The 45-year-old admitted the offence at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

Khan, of Walmersley Road, Bury, was placed on a community order to last for a year.

He was ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work and was banned from the roads for three years.
