A search is underway to help make sure that a missing man who was last seen “bare foot” is “safe and well.”

The man, who police have named solely by his first name as “Arthur”, was last seen at around 7.30pm on Saturday June 8 on Butterstile Lane, Prestwich.

Officers say that they are becoming concerned about him and have appealed for anyone who may know anything about his whereabouts to come forward.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Help find Arthur.

“Officers are becoming increasingly concerned and want to make sure they are safe and well.”

Police have described Arthur as very slim and say that he is around five feet, two inches in height.

They say that he was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, grey joggers and was bare foot.

An image released by police shows that Arthur appears to be a young man with short brown hair and glasses.

Police often send out wanted appeals like these to help them find people who have gone missing or who they are becoming concerned about.

Officers say that anyone with any information about him or his whereabouts should contact them as soon as they can be calling 0161 856 8215.
