Festival goers can expect mixed weather over a weekend of sun, clouds and rain.

This comes with the famous Parklife Festival set to return to Heaton Park near Prestwich on Saturday.

More than 160,000 music fans are expected to flock to the festival over Saturday and Sunday but they will have to brace themselves for some unseasonably chilly weather.

According to the Met Office temperatures over Saturday are expected to remain between lows of 10 degrees and highs of 14 degrees.

The warmest period on Saturday is set to be between 2pm and 6pm at 14 degrees.

But the day will be mostly cloudy from the early hours of the morning until the sun is expected to break through at around 3pm, which is then expected to last until nightfall.

There is around a 40 per cent chance of rain between 6am and 9am.

Sunday is set to be cooler, with temperatures ranging between lows of 10 degrees and highs of 12 degrees from 1pm to 4pm.

The day is also likely to remain cloudy throughout with a 50 per cent chance of rain between 10am and 1pm and a 60 per cent chance of rain between 4pm and 7pm.

There will then be an 80 per cent chance of rain at around 10pm.
