A community farm has released CCTV pictures of a man, after money to help with the upkeep of the site and to look after the animals, was stolen.

Pimhole Community Farm is widely known for its community projects, which involves giving young people across Bury the chance to meet the animals and learn about agricultural life.

But at around 7pm on Sunday, Stuart Andrews, who runs the farm, said a man broke in and stole money raised from selling plants and hanging baskets.

Mr Andrews said: “It’s my own fault as I left some money in the office, and I had bagged some change up and forgot to take it home with me.

“The money was supposed to go towards the farm for its upkeep and to look after the animals.”

Mr Andrews said he found out about the incident when he arrived at the farm at 8.30am on Monday.

The grill had been pulled off the front window, but apart from that, minimal damage was made.

Mr Andrews added: “It’s more about the money, about £70 to £100 has been taken in change.

“We really want to get the money back. Luckily, we have very good CCTV images.

“The money is for the animals, not for me.”

He added that Greater Manchester Police has been contacted about the incident but officers had not been to the farm to investigate the damage as of yet.

The force has been contacted for a comment about the incident.
