An award-winning pianist from Taiwan will be showcasing her talent at Bury Parish Church on Friday.
Ying Cheng will be performing at the town centre church in a lunchtime concert at 12.30pm.
She graduated with a master of fine arts in music with a major in piano from Tunghai University in 2022.
Ying studied under the guidance of Professor Thomas Linde and Professor Nikolai Saratovsky before pursuing further studies in the UK.
During her studies in Taiwan, Ying participated in numerous piano masterclasses, and received guidance from renowned pianists such as Ching-Yun Hu and Curtis Institute of Music faculty tutor, pianist Meng-Chieh Liu.
In 2020, Ying was awarded first prize for piano in the final round of the Tunghai University Concerto Competition and was recipient of the Distinguished Player Award for her performance.
Her piano recitals held in 2021 and 2022 were also widely praised.

Ying is currently enrolled on the advanced studies course at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester, where she is broadening her musical horizons under the tutelage of Professor Richard Ormrod.
As an advanced student she is exploring a diverse range of musical genres and styles, further enriching her artistic expression, and expanding her musical versatility.
Tickets will cost £5 on the door with refreshments on sale from 11.30am.
