Plans have been lodged to turn a former swimming pool building into a "large" shared house.
An application has been submitted to turn a house and pool building on Grosvenor Street in Prestwich into a 10-bedroom house in multiple occupation (HMO).
The applicant says it anticipates the residents of the HMO could be students, but also young professionals, overseas workers, low-skilled workers, benefit recipients or divorcees.
The property contains a swimming pool, which was given planning permission in 1992. Both the main building and pool would be converted into a residential living space.

The application says that if 10 bedrooms are not suitable, then a smaller, "fall back" HMO of six rooms could be proposed.
The application said: “It is proposed to change the use of the property from a dwelling house and its incidental swimming pool building to a large HMO.
“The property will accommodate 10 people, each with a single-occupancy bedroom. This represents a net gain of four occupants from the fallback position.
“The end users may be students. They may not.
"More mixed HMO markets are forming, including social groups such as young professionals, international migrant workers, low-skilled workers, benefit recipients and divorcees.
“The pool building is a single storey building with pitched, tiled roofs. Internally, it comprises an entrance hall in the conservatory leading to two changing rooms and a swimming pool.”
The application also addresses concerns around anti-social behaviour in relation to the HMO, saying that the applicant will put in place "controls and measures" to reduce the potential for noise and other issues.

It added: “One should not automatically assume HMO tenants are the leading cause of anti-social behaviour.
“Any occupier of any property could cause concerns in a community.
"Nonetheless, it would be disingenuous for the applicant to suggest there is a guarantee that future residents would not engage in anti-social behaviour.”
A residents consultation over the proposed plans is set to take place until June 20.
