Officers have confirmed that Boggart Hole Clough will remain as a police scene over the bank holiday weekend as they continue with a murder investigation of a 67-year-old man.

Stuart Everett is believed to have died in Salford at the end of March and an investigation into his murder was launched after parts of his body were found in Kersal Dale Wetlands, near Prestwich, on April 4.

Further discoveries of remains were found at Blackleach Reservoir in Walkden and Colliery Wood in Salford.

Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski, 68, and Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, both of Worsley Road, Eccles, have since been charged with murder.

Searches at Boggart Hole Clough began on Thursday, May 16 as well as land near Walkden and Patricroft train stations.

A spokesperson for GMP said: “Over the bank holiday weekend and into next week, Boggart Hole Clough will remain as a police scene as we continue to search for evidence in the murder investigation into Stuart Everett’s death.

“We understand the disruption this may cause to the public and the local residents who regularly use the park, and we don’t underestimate this, but we must do all we can to provide Stuart's family with the information they need to process his death.

“There are so many different elements to our investigation, and it continues to be a long process.

“We are thoroughly making our way through these search areas in Salford and Manchester to find new evidence that will assist the progression of our investigation.”
