The Seventies were a period of massive change for many Northern industrial towns and Bury and Radcliffe were no exception.
Old housing and large, former industrial sites were being cleared and ‘redevelopment’ was very much the buzzword.
This photo, taken in August 1973, shows an area of Radcliffe which had been earmarked for redevelopment showing Lord Street on the left, Water Street in the foreground and Bowker Street on the right.
