Police arrested a driver and passenger after officers pulled over a car in Halliwell.

The car was stopped on Nottingham Drive, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified.

Police said the passenger was wanted for failing to appear at court.

A spokesman for GMP said: "Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team stopped this car on Nottingham Drive in Halliwell yesterday.

"The driver was found to be disqualified from driving and was arrested. His passenger turned out to be wanted for failing to appear at court and was also arrested.

"The car has been seized under section 165A of the Road Traffic Act."

It comes as police launched Operation Classify to clampdown on car related offences.
