Ramsbottom Concert Orchestra will be taking to the stage in a couple of weeks.
The orchestra will be joined by the Andantino Singers and will be presenting a concert entitled Timeless Melodies at All Saints Church on Hebburn Drive in Brandlesholme on Thursday, May 23 at 7.30pm.
The program will include memorable tunes by Tchaikovsky with excerpts from his ballet music from Swan Lake, and Classic FM favourites by Dvorak, Schubert and Jerome Kern.
The orchestra, led by conductor Barry Sugden, have been working hard, particularly on the Tchaikovsky and Dvorak pieces both of which are quite demanding.
Andantino Singers will perform a wide range of songs by Cole Porter, George Gershwin including I’ve Got Rhythm, Begin the Beguine, Blue Moon and Somewhere Over the Rainbow as well as classical pieces such as How Lovely are thy Dwellings by Brahms.
