Ramsbottom Market, 1983
This photo from April 1983 records the first open market to be held in Ramsbottom for more than 40 years.
Hundreds of people went along to look at the stalls with traders both on the market and in the town declaring it a huge success.
The market, close to Bridge Street, was the first in a year-long experiment by the council.
