A fire broke out at a recycling centre in Radcliffe today, Sunday.
Fire crews were sent to Cemetery Road Recycling Centre just before midday to extinguish a blaze involving a waste container.
Fire engines from Whitefield and Bury were in attendance for an hour and a half and used breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a jet to extinguish the flames.
Later in the day work continued as normal at the centre with visitors able to drop off rubbish.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just before 12pm on Sunday, firefighters were called to reports of a fire at Cemetery Road Recycling Centre in Radcliffe.
“Two fire engines from Whitefield and Bury fire stations quickly arrived at the scene, where a waste container had caught fire. Firefighters used breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a jet to extinguish the fire.
“Crews were at the scene for around an hour and a half.”
