Bury students have wowed judges after speaking to schools about how they have acted as "changemakers" at their school.
A team of students from The Derby High School virtually attended the heats of the Goldsmiths’ Company Community Engagement Awards.
And they spoke about how they are embedding their work into the life and spirit of the Radcliffe Road school.

In their presentation, students Areeba, Wilbur, Mia, Jack, Erin and Levi shared the achievements of The Derby High School's student-led "changemakers" scheme.
Through their work as "community changemakers", students are tackling "grave and pressing environmental and societal issues".
The students are now set to attend the final of the competition in London.

Head student Areeba said: “Taking part in the Goldsmiths' presentation was an incredibly rewarding experience, as I got to showcase the enriching opportunities that we are grateful to have received from our school.
“It was a privilege to talk about our achievements, our changemaker journey and the personal attributes we have had to develop such as the resilience we have had to show throughout.
“I am very proud to have represented The Derby High School. As a school, we value student voice and real-world experiences.
“We strive to give every student the chance to engage with the wider community and make a true difference.”
Created in 2018, the Goldsmiths’ Awards recognise and celebrate the extracurricular efforts that schools make to support their local communities through volunteer work and charitable schemes.

Lynn Provoost, assistant head teacher, personal development and partnerships, said: “The students delivered an eloquent presentation and spoke passionately about their work.
“They impressed the panel of judges with their knowledgeable response to questions.
“Each one of our students demonstrated how they have inspired others and made a real difference to our community.
"We are incredibly excited to attend the finals in the glittering surroundings of London's Goldsmiths’ Hall for the national finals of the Goldsmiths’ Company Awards for Community Engagement.”
