The pair remain in police custody.
According to GMP, the victims’ injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, with two of the males are now out of hospital.
Emergency services arrived on Murray Street around noon on Monday, before the victims were taken to hospital.
Police say it was established that three males had been stabbed following an altercation.
Later that evening, GMP implemented Section 60 stop and search powers.
The powers allow officers to stop and search anyone in an area even if they do not suspect them of having committed a crime. The powers will be kept in place until 6.30pm on Wednesday, March 13.
Police, who have promised additional patrols across the town, say the powers will help prevent further incidents.
Anyone with concerns or information about the stabbings has been encouraged to speak to the force.
Superintendent Mike Walsh from GMP’s Bury district said: “Our priority is always to keep our communities safe and we will be extending this Section 60 [stop and search power] into tomorrow evening.
“I understand this incident will be of huge concern for everyone that lives and works in Bury. We are working hard to ascertain a full picture of what has happened and we will arrest those who we believe are responsible.
“Extra patrol officers have been deployed, both on foot and in patrol cars. These officers are there to keep you safe, if you have any concerns, they will be happy to provide reassurance and listen to any of your queries.”
