This photo offers a glimpse of life in pre-war Bury.
It was taken in February 1938 in Kay Gardens which served as the town’s main bus station with ornate bus shelters on three sides of a small park.
Those shelters are really something aren’t they. And look at the signs for the various destinations.
Note too the small queue barriers in front of each shelter.
