Police dashcam captured the moment two suspected car thieves were arrested in Heywood.
The burglary suspects were arrested by Greater Manchester Police on Friday, February 23.
Police officers from the force's Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit were sent to Heywood following reports of a series of burglaries between 10pm and 4am on Thursday evening and Friday morning, the force said.
Several vehicles were stolen during the alleged burglaries, as well as possessions belonging to the victims, two of whom were older women.
After patrolling the area for several hours, police located one of the suspected stolen vehicles.
On seeing police, the two men attempted to escape.
However, the footage shows they were detained within a matter of seconds – with officers tackling one suspect to the ground and chasing after another.
A 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of burglary and they remain in police custody for questioning.
The stolen vehicle was recovered by police and will soon be returned to the victim.
GMP asked members of the public to report intelligence by calling 101 or by using GMP’s website. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Inspector Daniel Kabal of GMP Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit said: “This is a brilliant job by our officers, and I hope it demonstrates the great proactive work the team are engaged in to tackle burglary.
“Burglary has a huge impact on individuals and their communities, and we understand how disruptive and distressing this type of crime can be.
“I would like to reassure the public that our TVIU officers will continue to target those responsible for committing serious crime with the intention of sending them to prison, where they belong.
“GMP relies on intelligence to actively target those responsible, so I would encourage anyone who has been a victim of burglary to make a report to enable us to investigate.”
