Staff and residents of a care home in Bury are celebrating after the site was awarded a good rating following its latest inspection.
Epworth Grange on Chirmside Street cares for older people and had 38 residents at the time of the visit from Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors.
Residents said staff were kind and caring and treated people well.
Systems and processes were in place to safeguard people from risks of harm and abuse too.
The care home scored "good" in each of the five areas it was marked on.
The report said: “People living at the home and relatives said they felt the service was safe.
“One person said 'staff are smashing. They look after me well and I feel very safe here'.
“Another person said 'The staff are very nice they look after me and I feel very safe they are very kind to me.””
Staff were recruited safely, and all the necessary procedures were followed, the report found.
Medicines were stored safely, and medication records were completed accurately by staff with no missing signatures.
The report added that the home benefitted from long-standing staff who knew people well and therefore allowed for caring relationships to develop.
One resident said: "I am very happy here. The staff are very good they help me get up get dressed and showered.
“Our clothes are cleaned to a high standard and the cleaner comes in every day to clean my room.”
A relative added: "We feel she is looked after very well and it gives us peace of mind that she is here and is being looked after the way she is."
The care home was also rated "good" after the last inspection in October 2017.
Home manager Susan Hopkinson said: “I am very proud of everyone at the home as they have all played a part in making sure we received this rating.
“It's a complete team effort and we are all very happy with the outcome.
“When the CQC inspected previously we received the same rating so to be consistent is very pleasing.
“Moving forward we want to continue with the good work we are doing, and I just want to thank everyone for all their hard work.”
