A revamped platform offering a "one-stop shop" for people looking for jobs, training or employment support has been launched.
EmployGM is being delivered by The Growth Company on behalf of Greater Manchester Combine Authority and will signpost people to a host of support across the region.
Available through the site will be information on training and skills courses, employment support programmes, vacancies, help with job applications and CV writing, money and health support and more.
Though EmployGM has been available since 2020, the launch marks a complete overhaul of the platform to benefit residents by bringing resources together in one place and making navigating careers much easier.
Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham said: “Greater Manchester is a thriving and vibrant city-region offering a plethora of opportunity for people living and working here and beyond.
“It’s important we make finding these opportunities as easy as possible so that people are in no doubt about how they can progress in their careers or find new ones.
“EmployGM has evolved significantly, mirroring the pace at which our city-region’s economy is also growing.
"It’s about more than finding jobs, the site also supports our efforts to ensure people’s skills match our labour market need by providing information about tailored training opportunities and careers guidance.”
The website received a "soft" launch in late 2023 to allow people to understand the offer and try out the site, but now all functionality has been enabled and users will be able to access everything EmployGM has to offer.
As well as targeting Greater Manchester residents, EmployGM has been designed to attract and encourage people that are considering relocating to the region, showcasing the range of career opportunities available.
Cllr Eamonn O’Brien, Bury Council leader and Greater Manchester’s lead for technical education and skills, said: "I am delighted to welcome the launch of the Employ GM website, which brings together a comprehensive range of job vacancies, training opportunities and employment support in one place.
"The resource will support Greater Manchester residents and beyond to get on the career ladder, reach their ambitions and be part of the city-region’s thriving workforce.
"I commend the efforts of everyone involved and encourage our residents to explore the platform for their employment support and career development needs."
