A number of people from Bury have recently been before the courts.

Magistrates have dealt with a variety of offences including criminal damage and motoring ones.

Here are the people who have recently been in the dock.

James Underwood drove on the M1 at Wakefield at 91mph.

The road is subject to the national speed limit of 70mph.

Underwood, 33, of Bury Road, Tottington, carried out the offence in July last year while driving a Mercedes.

He admitted the offence at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court.

Following this, Underwood was fined £433 and given four points on his licence.

Daniel Humphrey damaged a window belonging to a woman in Radcliffe earlier this month.

The 39-year-old admitted the offence at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court.

Humphrey, of Milltown Close, Radcliffe, was ordered to pay compensation of £200.

Mohammed Akram drove a Vauxhall Astra on Radcliffe Road in Radcliffe without insurance or a licence.

The 24-year-old carried out the offences in November last year.

Akram, of Parkhills Road, Bury, was given six points on his licence and fined £200.

John Holt drove a Peugeot on Walmsley Old Road in Bury under the influence of alcohol.

The 55-year-old was breathalysed and found to have 72 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35.

Holt carried out the offence in November last year.

Holt, of Regent Street, Bury, admitted the offence at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court.

He was fined £300 and given a ban from the roads which will run for 17 months.
