A former professional boxer has opened a new supplement store in Bury.
Ty Zubair, who has two decades of experience in bodybuilding, has become the proud owner of ‘Pump it Up’, situated on Walmersley Road.
The new store sells a range of protein powders, EAAs, pre-workouts and vitamins, which 54-year-old Ty believes will “go down well” with Bury’s booming fitness industry.
He said: "I have a lot of experience in the industry and have wanted to open a store like this for a while but could never find the right place.
"The number of gyms opening in Bury seems to have grown quite a lot in recent years and when this place came up, I thought it would be a good opportunity."
The official opening took place on Monday, January 15, with the help of Kirk Haslam, a former council member for the British Boxing Board of Control.
Opening in January, Ty said, is something he aimed to do as more and more people look to start their fitness journeys in the new year.

He explained: "It is the perfect time and being on Walmersley Road means we get a lot of people driving past who can see where we are and what we are about.
"But it isn’t just for people who already know what they want to buy, we are open to help everyone.

"If someone comes in with a specific goal they want to reach, we can set them on the path to getting there by discussing what products, foods, or exercises are right for them, so they can find a solid routine."
Ty's son, who is part of the business, will also be able to advise as a qualified personal trainer, nutritionist, and competitive bodybuilder.
As a Bury resident, Ty added that he wants to help the community, even if that is not with fitness-related problems.

He said: "I want to help anyone who needs it, be it kids who don’t know what to do with their time, people struggling with their mental health or drug addiction.
"I want this to be a place where people can ask for help when they need it and if the problem isn’t something I can directly solve, I will help to put them in contact with the people who can.
“If there is anything I can do for the community, I will."
The new store is situated at 28 Walmersley Road, Bury, and is open from 11am to 8pm, seven days a week.
