A Bury bar shut down following a police raid which uncovered a suspected cannabis farm and cocaine on its premises is up for sale.

The Hub Bar, on Haslam Street, closed in September last year after a police raid uncovered £20,000 worth of cocaine and a suspected cannabis farm.

The warrant, which was carried out on the bar on September 1, was part of Operation Gold which targeted the supply of class A drugs, particularly cocaine.

The bar, which opened in a residential area to concern from residents in 2020, is now up for sale via auction with a guide price of guide price of £150,000.

The advert, listed on Rightmove by estate agents Pearson Ferrier, said: “A large vacant freehold property located between Chesham Road and Bell Lane.

“The property comprises two shop units, various storage rooms, a large garage (roller shutter height approx. 2.9m) with W.C. to the rear and a spacious first floor area, with the potential to further develop or convert subject to any necessary consents.

“The property is located close to terraced houses and a semi-industrial area. This would be ideal for a buy to let investor, with good options to split the property further subject to any consents required.”

The Hub Bar lost its licence to serve alcohol and subsequently closed after a licensing hearing heard that the bar’s designated license holder (DPS) had been arrested and charged with three offences by police.

The bar had long been subject to concern by residents who opposed its opening in “extraordinarily large numbers” due to its location in a largely residential area.

The former bar is up for sale by auction from Tuesday, February 6, along with adjoining units including a shop and a garage to the rear.
