Gritters are hitting the roads in Bury this morning as temperatures plummet and snow continues to fall.
Gritters left the depot early today and will be treating the streets on their gritting routes, says Bury Council.
This follows a yellow warning that has been issued for snow and ice in Bury lasting from today, Tuesday, until Thursday, January 18.

A spokesperson from Bury Council said: “Snowy conditions today.
“Our gritting team are out and about this morning!
“Make sure to check routes before you travel and stay safe.
“Check where we grit www.bury.gov.uk/gritting”.

According to the Met Office, the snow will continue to fall in Bury until around 11am.
Temperatures are set to warm as the day goes on with highs of 3 degrees.
