Police officers in Radcliffe were preparing to move into this brand new building in 1985.
The new chalet-style building replaced the former station house on Railway Street which was in a poor state of repair.
Dry rot had been discovered and engineers had been forced to demolish part of the old building. Conditions were so bad that officers sealed up doors with Sellotape to keep out draughts.
The old building was to be pulled down to make way for a car park.
