Council-run schools are among the top performing three in the borough, the latest exam results have found.
Data released by the Department for Education this week assessed the attainment of year 6 pupils who took their exams in the summer.
The Key Stage Two figures show how well schools perform in the SATs exams and also reflect progress made while children are at primary school.
It is the first primary school performance data published since the pandemic.
The top performing school in the borough was Emmanuel Holcombe CE Primary School in Holcombe where 88 per cent of pupils reached the expected standard in reading and maths.

Pupils at the Helmshore Road school achieved on average half a grade higher in reading, writing and maths compared to similar schools across the country, making attainment "well above average" in all three areas.
A total of 13 per cent percent of pupils achieved a higher than average score in reading and maths.
Chantlers Primary School, also run by the local authority, was in second place. Here, 87 per cent of pupils met the expected standard of reading, writing and maths.
Attainment in reading at the Foulds Avenue school is "well above average" and maths is "above average".
A proportion of 10 per cent of pupils achieved a higher than average standard of attainment in reading and maths.
Both St Bernadette RC Primary School in Whitefield, another council-run school, and Yesoiday HaTorah Boys’ Academy, Prestwich, saw 81 per cent of pupils achieving the expected standard of attainment.
Youngsters at Yesoiday HaTorah Boys’ Academy achieved well above average in reading, writing and maths.

Chantlers Primary School headteacher, Philip Barlow, said: “Chantlers is thrilled that all its hard work, dedication and new curriculum has impacted on us maintaining outstanding results.
"Thanks to my brilliant team who give 110 per cent every day at Chantlers.
“These results reflect a whole team approach who strive for excellence not only academically but also pastorally to ensure the children in our care develop holistically. We are very proud and well done again to Class of 23.”
