Motorists are being warned of rush hour delays on a motorway after another m-way was closed overnight due to flooding.
Delays are currently being reported on the M62 westbound near Simister Island.
They were previously said to have been six minutes, but have now risen to nine minutes according to AA Traffic News.
It says: "Delays of nine minutes and delays increasing on M62 Westbound between J20 A627(M) J3 (Rochdale) and J18 M66 J4 (Simister Island). Average speed 15 mph."
There are also delays on the M60 anticlockwise from the Simister Island junction.
AA Traffic News says: "Slow traffic on M60 anticlockwise from J18 M66 J4 (Simister Island) to J14 A580 East Lancashire Road. Travel time is around 20 minutes."
This comes after the M66 was closed last night due to flooding.
The motorway was closed from its junction at Simister Island up 'towards the A56' in the early hours of today.
North West Motorway Police warned motorists at just after 1am that there was a 'full closure' in place between the two areas.
The motorway was not reported to have been reopened until 5am, when the flooding had 'subsided'.
There are currently no reports of further closures on the M66.
The flooding hit as part of Storm Fergus, which forced flood warnings to be put in place across England.
Warnings were in place for Bury yesterday, Sunday, as part of the Lower Irwell and Upper Irwell catchment areas, but they were removed around midday.
