We are so happy to share the news that Bury Hospice has been selected to receive support from the Co-op Local Community Fund.
This means that the hospice will receive 2p for every £1 spent by a Co-op member on selected Co-op branded items and services up until October 19, 2024.
Co-op members will benefit from saving more on everyday essentials while helping patients who are in need of vital palliative and end-of-life care.
The hospice is heavily reliant on the generous fundraising that members of the local community devote themselves to doing. Now, having this latest way of generating much needed income comes as an added bonus to securing our care needs, this Christmas and into the new year.
The hospice has its own dedicated page on the Co-op website and app where all Co-op members can find out about what we do and it’s where you can select to support us.
Our cause is linked to a community of Co-op food stores and funeral homes across Bury: Food stores (Mile Lane, BL8 2JR, and Walmersley, BL9 6LL), and Funeralcare (Bury, BL9 0EX, and Radcliffe, M26 4EA).
Shoppers can still raise money for our cause by shopping at any of the Co-op Group stores UK-wide and selecting Bury Hospice as the charity of their choice.
We, at the hospice, are grateful for the opportunity to benefit from an additional funding boost this festive season and we know that it is all down to our supporters making kind donations in the spirit of community.
Co-op members can donate some, or all, of their member rewards balance using the Co-op app (by clicking the Community tab) or online. While Co-op customers can make a donation at till points in any of the Co-op food stores.
The extra added bonus is that all money raised by Monday, January 8, 2024 will be matched by the Co-op.
Since 2016, Co-op members have raised £138million via the Local Community Fund, which has helped 7m people across the UK.
All funds raised for the hospice will go an enormous way towards ensuring the operational costs for our care services are covered, meaning that local patients continue to receive the care they need free of charge.
Margaret Michaels, grants and trusts fundraiser at the hospice, said: “The Co-op has been very supportive of Bury Hospice and we are delighted to have been selected this year.
“All you have to do is select Bury Hospice as your local cause and we’ll get 2p for every pound spent.
“Bury Hospice is close to a lot of people’s hearts – your support is paramount to us.”
