Take a look at this great photo showing Kay Gardens in Bury town centre.
It dates to the 1950s and was probably taken from the top of the old market hall. You can really see the triangular shape of the gardens and the memorial to John Kay, the inventor of the flying shuttle.
The memorial was unveiled in 1908. The gardens are surrounded by ornate bus shelters and you can still see tram lines among the cobblestones.
The large shopfront at the top of the picture bears the sign Sam Fletcher. Anyone remember this company?
