An independent art studio which has celebrated the work of local artists for more than two years is set close.
Summerseat Art Studio, run by June Winsche and her son Reuben at their home on Railway Street, will shut at the end of the year as they plan to move abroad.
The studio originally opened back in July 2021 and became a staple for unique gifts and art pieces from local artists who live and work in the Bury and Ramsbottom area.

The idea was originally born during the coronavirus lockdown and June chose which artists to take on and mentor them while Reuben helped with the business, website and social media side of things.
Over the years, the studio has helped to increase the confidence and self-worth of artists who may not have been able to showcase or sell their artwork before.
As well as selling art, the studio hosts watercolour classes which anyone can attend and have been hugely popular.
They urge people to visit them one last time before Christmas before they close for good.

“We have hosted wine and art events bringing something completely different to the area and Alison and Kathy have been amazing hosts of our much-loved watercolour classes.
“So please do come and see the studio one last time before Christmas. A totally unique and different kind of Art Gallery.
