A new area dean has been appointed to serve churches in Bury and Rossendale.
The Bishop of Manchester, The Rt Revd Prof David Walker has announced Revd Canon Donna Williams will serve in the position.
Revd Canon Williams have expressed her delight in taking up the role.

She said: “It’s a joy and privilege to have been called and appointed as the new area dean for Bury and Rossendale.
“I’m looking forward to becoming part of the transformation team and getting to know the other area deans.
“My heart is to see our churches flourish and grow as we seek to make the love of Jesus known in our own contexts.

“I look forward to serving alongside our congregations and mission communities as we seek to fulfil God’s calling in our lives.”
The Rt Revd Dr Matthew Porter, Bishop of Bolton, added: “I'm delighted that Donna Williams is going to be the next Area Dean of Bury and Rossendale.
“With much life experience and a passion for prayer, Donna loves people, has a passion for mission and growth, and most of all, a deep commitment to Jesus Christ.

Donna will be licensed as part of her deanery welcome service in January.
